The situation there becomes even more intricate with the existing conflict in Gaza, where over 41,000 Palestinians have been reported dead since the surprise attacks by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, which resulted in the deaths of over 1,100 Israelis. In the United Nations Security Council, the UAE has been more vocal on this point regarding Palestine, making calls for resolutions that would condemn the actions of Israel in Gaza, sometimes at odds with the United States over its action. Speaking to the press following the meeting, Biden and Sheikh Mohamed appealed for urgent and unconditional humanitarian aid to Gaza but reaffirmed their intentions to further a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
Biden said that, at the outset of their meeting, he was briefed on the latest on the situation in Israel and Lebanon, referencing reports of Israeli airstrikes that killed at least 492 people in Lebanon on Monday. He highlighted that his officials continue to talk with their counterparts on both sides to try to calm things down and protect civilians.

They noted that the Sudan conflict is far from a solution since they underlined that no military solution can be won at the time when the world is facing one of its biggest displacement crises.
The leaders also discussed boosting cooperation in areas such as space exploration, clean energy, and artificial intelligence where the UAE has developed ambitious initiatives that have caught attention from the U.S. geopolitical rival, China.
The Vice President Kamala Harris had met with the UAE leader, although those talks were off the record. According to the White House, she informed him of her deep concerns about the conflicts in Sudan-the millions displaced by war, the atrocities against civilians.
During the 2023 G20 Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi, leaders further discussed India, which mooted the Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, and it has the potential to usher in a new era of international connectivity, easily facilitate global trade, enhance the distribution of clean energy, increase electricity access, and strengthen telecommunications.
It has leaders from India, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Italy, and the European Union within its parameters, creating shipping and rail connections that join India through the UAE and Saudi Arabia to Jordan, Israel, and into Europe through Greece. At both meetings, they reiterated that this corridor would spur economic growth and bring about efficiency, cut greenhouse gas emissions, and integrate Asia, Europe, and the Middle East more effectively.
